Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The cruise was part of the World Ocean Circulation Experiment (Sektion IR4) and was aimed at determining the zonal transport in the equatorial and mon- soon current systems in the central Indian Ocean south of Sri Lanka.
