Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
In the frame work of the sensor calibration/validation phase of the European Remote Sensing satellite (ERS 1), Oct-Dec 1991, surface and airborne measurements were taken at the time of the satellite overflight in the Norwegian Sea. The radar equipment of ERS 1 provided surface wind and wave measurements along its ground track corresponding to a fixed repeat cycle orbit.
