Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The investigations focus on the reconstruction of the paleoceanographic history in the area of the polar frontal zone during the Quaternary and Late Pliocene glacial-interglacial climatic fluctuations. Leg ANT-9/4 in particular was designed to complete a geological north-south profile between Cape Town and Bouvet Island
