Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
Major objectives of the cruise: ? To collect data to study the natural habitat of orange-back squid in the eastern tropical Atlantic. ? To study daily vertical migration of orange-back squid. ? To study vertical distribution of orange-back squid in the 0-400-m layer by using conventional techniques and underwater manned vehicles. ? To study the response of orange-back squid to drag-net and other fishing gears. ? To study special features of squid concentration inside and outside the light field.
