Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The major aims of the cruise were to study the following: -energy of the ocean and the atmosphere in the regions of their intensive interaction; -space-time structure and regularities of the formation of the mean circulation in the basin and its water exchange; -synoptic variability of the ocean and its contribution to the mean circulation and the formation of the thermal water state; -bottom waters and their contribution to the thermal state and dynamics of the ocean; -genesis of water masses and hydrological frontal zones; -monitoring of ocean climate.
